Contemporary Coopered Form — 5–6 December 2026
Contemporary Coopered Form — 5–6 December 2026
A two-day workshop in one of the oldest and least-taught bending traditions.
Coopering gives us something solid timber cannot. By assembling staves into hollow forms, tubes, shells and bowl forms, we can work at a range of scales and achieve possibilities that would be difficult or wasteful using solid wood.
This workshop moves from stave geometry and angle calculation through fitting, assembly and refinement. The emphasis is on understanding the logic of the form, not simply following a set of steps.
Open to all levels. Some woodworking experience is helpful but not essential.
Saturday 5 to Sunday 6 December 2026, 9am–5pm each day
Moonlite Studios, Mount Egerton, Victoria
Maximum 4 participants
A$660 per person, including materials
