Make a Chair
A five-day workshop in contemporary chair construction.
Chairs are a stumbling block for many woodworkers. The joinery is complex, the geometry is unforgiving, and the margin for error is small.
In this five-day class you will build a contemporary version of a classic dining chair, with compound mortise and tenon joinery. All participants build to a standardised plan, with individual variations possible through the shaping and spacing of lumbar support slats and the shaping of the crest rail.
You will leave with a finished chair and the capacity to undertake complex chair construction in your own workshop.
