Over five immersive days, you will develop fundamental hand-tool skills and a practical understanding of timber while making a simple table.

You will learn how to sharpen, set up and use essential hand tools; mark and prepare timber accurately; create clean joints; and bring individual components together into a finished piece of furniture.

The course is suitable for beginners as well as makers who want to strengthen the foundations of their existing practice. The skills developed here will allow you to begin making furniture with a minimal palette of hand tools and provide a strong basis for more advanced woodworking, furniture-making and design courses.
